The Tokyo Marui MWS performed really well in the hop up test, lifting up to 0.43g BBs at the distance of 25 meters. We did not anticipate such good performance out of the box. It makes us wonder if others Marui GBBs can also lift such heavy BBs?
For the range test the Marui MWS reached the furthest to 60 meters with 0.36g BBs. As we increased the BB weight, the trajectory became more stable and consistant. With some simple upgrades to the hop up and inner barrel the range could be improved even more!
The best grouping was made with the 0.32g BBs, which resulted in a 8 x 9 cm shot group. With increased BB weight, the BBs impacts become more predictable. With 0.32g~0.4g BBs, this rifle can hit targets the size of a face mask at 25 meters.
We were quite surprised by how well this GBB performed under 3 different temperature settings. The difference between shots with highest velocity and lowest velocity was only 4.3m/s. Based on our experience, the maximum velocity deviation tend to be greater than 5m/s in cold conditions.
The Tokyo Marui MWS performed phenomenally in terms of gas efficiency, putting out 90 shots in a single gas fill at 10°C. We can hardly think of any other GBB to match such low temperature performance. In other words, in a single gas charge this gun can effectively fire 2.6x a full magazine’s worth of BBs!
This rifle’s rate of fire isn’t particularly high – 16 rounds per second. However when fired in full auto this gun is extremely smooth stable, and the bolt locks to the rear reliably every time, even when performing a full mag dump.
